the World of a Three year old

I have been in the land of preschool for eons (which equals over 15 years).  For the last 5 years I have  HAD the privilege to teach 3 year old's. It's amazing to see how much they grow in one short school year. Our school is Reggio Emilio inspired. If you don't know what that is, well your in for a treat!

My Work

During the unsettling hours that are light I have the wonderful job of teaching young minds. Our school is Reggio Emilia inspired. For further information here is a link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggio_Emilia_approach
I have worked with many different curriculums over the years. At first I was skeptical but do to my fondness for nature and natural things it didn't take me long to embrace this philosophy. As of today, August 24, 2016, I am enjoying the last few days of my summer break.

I may not have been at work but most of my summer was spent getting things sewn, painted, planned and created for my classroom. This year we are going to be the Rabbits, as in the White Rabbit of Alice in Wonderland fame.

The pictures below are just a few of the items I worked on and the BEFORE pictures of my class. Next week will be orientation and I will have the time to hopefully transform the mess into a land of fun and exploration for my new students.  PS The rooms have just been painted, hence all the furniture askew. This is NOT how my class looked last year!

June 2017-The year of the White Rabbits has come to an end, well at least for me.  (They have another month of school).  It's now time to start work for my next years class, the Sea Otters.  I really am excited to change up the class, it does get old after a while.
